Monday night football at Tatnam tonight as play-off chasing Poole Town host resurgent Frome Town (1945).
Tommy Killick’s Dolphins are buoyed by back to back home wins over Truro City (1-0) and AFC Totton (2-0) as they kick off a 16-match run-in between now and April 26.
Home comfort – if there is any – is that the last five matches of Poole’s arduous six-week run-in are at Tatnam.
Poole start the evening eight points behind fifth placed Stourbridge, who still occupy the last play-off place, but with seven games in hand on the Glassboys.
Frome – managed by Adrian Foster – arrive on the south coast in 16th place unbeaten in four outings following Saturday’s 1-0 home win over AFC Totton.
• Truro City player-manager Steve Tully has moved swiftly for an impressive capture, popular former Torquay United Exeter City and Bristol Rovers winger Wayne Carlisle has agreed to be the Cornish club’s new assistant manager/coach.
The pair were team-mates at Exeter and Tully said: “Wayne is a top coach and I am delighted he has agreed to help me out at Truro, because I know we can only benefit from his input.”
Irishman Carlisle, 34, began his Football League career at Crystal Palace and also played at Leyton Orient.
• Runaway Western League First Division leaders Bradford Town kick off the first of four successive home fixtures at home to 15th placed Wells City tonight (1930).
The Bobcats host second placed Shepton Mallet in a top-of-the-table clash at Trowbridge Road on Saturday followed by a Les Phillips quarter final derby against Bath-based Premier side Odd Down on Wednesday week and another home league game, against 11th placed Devizes Town on March 29.
