BIDEFORD, BORO AND PAULTON PROSPER

Leaders Bideford extended their Evo-Stik League Southern Division One South & West unbeaten run to 15 league games with 15 remaining following tonight’s 2-2 home draw with Gosport Borough.

The draw enabled Sean Joyce’s Robins to open up a six-point lead over second placed Hungerford with a game in hand while Alex Pike’s Boro edged up a place to third thanks to Brett Poate’s 85th minute penalty equaliser.

Paulton Rovers won 2-0 at Clevedon Town to soar from seventh to fourth thanks to goals from midfielders James Billing (45 mins) and Craig Loxton (61).

At Bideford, Kevin Squire took his goal tally to four in three games with a 55th minute equaliser after visiting forward Justin Bennett had put Boro ahead on 10 minutes.

Home skipper Matt Hockley put the Robins in front from a 75th minute penalty.

In the Toolstation Western League First Division, Portishead Town won 2-0 at Almondsbury Town. Joe Lott and Mark Mapstone winged in with the goals for Ray Johnstone's side. Keeper Seb Gribble ensured a clean sheet for Town with a last minute penalty save, his fifth of the season. Portishead host Shrewton on Saturday (Bristol Road 1500).

Bristol Manor Farm won through to the Gloucestershire Trophy semi finals following a 6-0 home win over Tuffley Rovers.
