Pacesetters eye county cup derby - weather-permitting

IVYBRIDGE Town suffered their fourth successive postponement when Saturday’s (Nov 4) South West Peninsula League match away to Teignmouth was rained off.

The game was called off on Friday afternoon in accordance with the League’s severe weather procedure and will now be played on Saturday March 23, which was a blank date in the original fixture list.

It means that Ivybridge - who top Peninsula Premier East, eight points clear of second placed Bridport - have missed out on a home match against Okehampton along with away fixtures against Crediton, Stoke Gabriel and Teignmouth.

The SWPL East pacesetters will now be hoping for an improvement in the weather in time for their next fixture on Wednesday (November 8), the keenly awaited county cup clash and local derby at home to Lee Hobb's Southern Premier Plymouth Parkway in the Devon St Luke’s Bowl second round.
