Bristol Rovers head to seventh placed Doncaster in League One tonight hoping to build on Saturday’s dramatic 2-2 draw at Plymouth and seeking to extend an impressive unbeaten run.

Graham Coughlan’s 15th placed side have not lost in eight away games helping them to stay unbeaten in five league matches following Gavin Reilly’s stoppage time leveller at Home Park.

The canny Rovers boss knows his team are in for a tough test tonight, admitting “Doncaster and Luton Town are the two best teams that have played against us since I have been (in charge) at the club.”

Coughlan who identifies Luton as “champions elect” is not reading too much into Doncaster’s 4-0 defeat at the leaders’ on Saturday, especially as Rovers will be seeking to erase the memory of their own 4-0 defeat by Doncaster at the Memorial Ground, albeit back in early December.

The 44-year-old Dubliner reiterates his side have come on “leaps and bounds” since then and their current record of three wins and two draws reinforces that belief.

“There’s lots more positivity around the team and the club now,” says Coughlan as his side head north.

Rovers’ stoppage time goal scoring hero Reilly and fellow Saturday sub Alex Jakubiak – on loan from Premier League Watford – come into the reckoning for tonight’s starting XI.
