BRISTOL CITY maintain only 100 per cent start to 2019

Bristol City Football Club crest Bristol City are the only side with a 100 per cent domestic competitive record in 2019 following last night’s 2-1 comeback Championship win over QPR at Ashton Gate.

Victory lifts City up to fifth ahead of Sunday’s big FA Cup date at the Gate.
Lee Johnson’s Robins – who face their toughest test of the new year when Premier League Wolves visit on Sunday – are now unbeaten in 15 and boast a nine-game winning run.

City have won their last six home games and only conceded three goals in nine outings, which bodes well ahead of hosting Nuno Espirito Santo’s high-flying Wolves, seventh in the top flight.

The Robins left it late.

Famara Diedhiou netted City’s penalty winner three minutes into stoppage time against Rangers, after Niclas Eliasson cancelled out Matt Smith’s 45ht minute opener.

Sunday’s cup tie kicks off at 1300.
