One of the most eagerly anticipated live football draws takes place just after seven o’clock tonight as BBC2 screens the FA Cup third round draw.

Few programmes are as enjoyed as much as the first opportunity for “minnows” to be drawn against the giants of the domestic game.

Exeter City and Forest Green – ball number 62 – produced a thrilling second round tie to draw 3-3 at the New Lawn.

Their reward for both scoring in stoppage time on Saturday is a place in tonight’s draw. 

Newport County (ball 47) are through following their 2-0 home win over Cambridge United yesterday while League Two rivals Yeovil Town (ball 49) must replay against Port Vale.

Southern Premier phoenix club Hereford, who drew 1-1 at Fleetwood, are in the same boat.

Exeter (versus Forest Green), Hereford and Yeovil replays on Tuesday December 12 (1945ko).
