NON LEAGUE Owers leaves Bath to take over at Torquay

Gary Owers Gary Owers has been appointed head coach at National League basement side Torquay United.

Martin Kuhl, 52, has been appointed assistant head coach to Owers at Plainmoor.

The pair's first match in charge of the Gulls will be at Barrow on Saturday.

United are without a win in their opening 10 league games.

Jim Rollo, assistant manager to Owers at Bath City, will take temporary charge of the Romans for Saturday's home FA Cup 2QR tie against Knaphill at Twerton Park.

Bath's board have already begun their search for a new replacement for 48-year-old Owers. City are ninth in National League South.

Torquay's previous player-manager Kevin Nicholson joined United from Bath City, where he started the 2015-2016 season as left back.

Truro City soared to second in National League South following their fifth win in a row, last night's 1-0 home success over Chippenham Town at Treyew Road.

Andrew "Rocky" Neal scored the 52nd minute winner for Lee Hodges' White Tigers.

Marc McGregor's Weston-super-Mare drew 3-3 at Oxford City thanks to Albanian ace Rapai Irnti's 79th minute leveller as both teams finished with 10 players.

Seagulls seven-goal top scorer Dayle Grubb (2, 40 mins) scored to twice put Weston ahead.

It was Grubb's second double in three league games.

Irnti, who received international clearance to join Weston before Saturday's 1-1 draw at pace setters Chelmsford City, has scored in both Seagulls starts.
