Torquay United FC have announced the deal to transfer ownership of the National League club has been completed.
The consortium led by former United striker Dean Edwards will now take control after reaching an agreement with the remaining board of directors at the Launa Windows Stadium.
A Torquay United press statement added: "This is one of the most significant days in the history of Torquay United and gives us all a chance to look forward to a fresh new era after a long period of great uncertainty.
"There is still an incredible amount of work to be done, but we now have a chance to move forward."
• United have just completed the signing of highly-rated teenage keeper Dan Lavercombe, 18, on a two-year deal.
The Torquay-born keeper - who attended Torquay Boys' Grammar School - played twice in five matches for Liverpool Academy as they won the prestigious Volksbank Cup at the post-season Stemwede International tournament in Germany.
Former United youth team no 1 Lavercombe also kept three clean sheets in five league games at the tailend of last season for the Gulls first team.
• The Gulls have confirmed pre-season July friendlies at home to Plymouth Argyle FC (28th 1945ko) and Exeter City FC (31st 1930ko)
