FOOTBALL SHORTS Cup win spin-off effect on Gulls

torquay united logoRotherham United's 3-0 FA Cup win at Notts County last night has a spin-off effect on Torquay United.

The Millers' cup success means they now visit League Two rivals Aldershot Town in the third round on Saturday January 5, when they were fixtured to travel to Plainmoor to play Martin Ling's Gulls in a league match.

Torquay now have a blank fixtures date on January 5 and will reschedule their home date with Rotherham.

Torquay are set to host Exeter City in the second of three successive Festive Devon derbies on Saturday (Plainmoor 1500) before travelling to Plymouth Argyle next Wednesday for a Boxing Day derby (Home Park 1300).

Paul Tisdale's Exeter drew 1-1 at home to Carl Fletcher's Argyle at St James' Park last Saturday.

United are set to host AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday January 1 (Plainmoor 1500).
