The Green & Blacks won 3-1 on penalties after the Walter C Parson Cup third round tie ended 2-2 after extra time.
Blazey will be at home to either Okehampton Argyle or Falmouth Town in next month's quarter-finals.
Blazey boss Lafferty said: “Camelford is one of the toughest away days of any season. An even tougher task when Reg (Hambly) has been building for years and years to what he has now.
“In contrast, we are six months into rebuilding St Blazey from scratch. So naturally I’m delighted with our resilience, character, fitness and togetherness.”
Veteran goalkeeper Jason Chapman starred, with crucial contributions during the 120 minutes as well as two saves in the shootout.
Lafferty said: “Yes we owed a lot to Chappy both in open play and the penalty shoot out, but that’s what Chappy has done for 20 years at this level and higher. So he’s done his job well.”
Teenagers, central defender Owen Rosevear and left back Isaac Burdon, produced excellent displays alongside experienced Martin Giles and Will Tinsley.
Lafferty said: “We started with two 19-year-olds in the back four and a 16-year-old on our bench, who also came on. So I believe we have a great blend of youth and experience gelling together and we appear to be believing in what we are putting together.
“We now have a spine about us, which all ambitious sides need, with real quality and experiences throughout that spine.
“It was a good day at a tough office and just reward for our loyal travelling fans.”
Phil Lafferty was talking to KEVIN MARRIOTT Sports Editor of Voice Group Newspapers (Cornwall)
