FA VASE 1QR Liskeard Athletic 0 Millbrook AFC 3

Buildbase VASEMillbrook will face a home tie against Western League side Hallen after cruising to an impressive victory at Lux Park.

Mackenzie Brown’s side were the better outfit by some distance and it was hard to think of a weakness.

They were 1-0 ahead after 36 seconds when Rikki Shepherd finished off after Laurence Murray’s original shot was brilliantly parried by Liskeard keeper Luke Gwillam.

And it was 2-0 in the fifth minute when Sam Morcom provided a quality finish, taking advantage of a mix-up in the Liskeard defence.

The home side, who started with a three man back line, were being run ragged and Tom Payne almost made it 3-0 when he curled a left foot shot inches wide.

Liskeard rallied as the half went on and it took an excellent save from Chris Wearing to deny Harry Bell from a corner.

The home side introduced playmaker Jarrad Woods and forward Tom Savigar at the start of the second half as they changed to a more familiar 4-4-2 formation.

Millbrook were still calling the tune in the early stages but as the half wore on, Liskeard took over and enjoyed plenty of possession without really troubling goalkeeper Wearing.

Any chance of a Liskeard comeback was ended 10 minutes from time when the evergreen Payne curled in a beauty of a free kick from 20 yards to make it 3-0.

Wearing was called upon to make a couple of excellent saves in the late stages to deny James Lorenz a consolation goal.
