WESTERN LEAGUE All Wright on night for soaring Bucks

Striker Chris Wright scored a hat-trick as Newton Abbot's Buckland Athletic beat managerless Barnstaple Town 6-1 at Mill Road in the night's only non-League game in Devon.

The Bucks leap over six teams to 13th in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division following tonight's win.

Wright took his season's tally to 16 goals with a 90th minute third goal after scoring twice in the first half as Athletic recovered from going behind to Danny Jenkins' early opener.

Gavin Hammon's goal on the hour took his term's tally to 21 in 22 games while player-manager Antony Lynch and Simon Revell also got on the second half score sheet.

Keynsham Town also leapt up – over four First Division teams to 10th – following a 3-2 home win over Devizes Town.

Steve Cains’ comeback Ks trailed 2-0 to goals by striker Neil Clark and left wing Brad Stanners before turning around 2-2 thanks to a stoppage time first half leveller.

Midfielder Scott Brain, forwards Pat Davison and Steve Machin were on target for Keynsham.

• The eagerly anticipated Longwell Green Sports v Larkhall Athletic FA Vase second round replay will now take place on Saturday at Shellards Road (1500).

The Western League Premier knock-on effect means that Melksham Town, who were due to visit Longwell, will now travel to Bridport, who were fixtured to host the Larks at St Mary's Field (1500).
