BIG KICK OFF City host Forest - Rovers and Argyle away

Bristol City kick off the 2018/19 English Football League Championship at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday August 4 at Ashton Gate.

Lee Johnson’s City finished 11th in the Championship last season, Forest a disappointing 17th.

Both sides will be hoping to improve on those positions next season.

Graham Potter’s Swansea City start life back in the Championship at Bramall Lane, with an away trip to Sheffield United on the opening day. Kick off will be 1730 as the fixture will be televised.

Swansea’s first home game is against Preston North End on Saturday August 11 while Bristol City pay an early season trip to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday August 25.

Bristol City are scheduled to host Swansea on Saturday February 2 and will be at home to Brentford on Boxing Day Wednesday.

Derek Adams’ League One Plymouth Argyle – who again visit Bristol City in a League Cup opener, on Tuesday August 14 – begin the new season at Walsall on August 4.

The greens – who narrowly missed out on reaching the play-offs in their first term back in League One last season – host Southend United in their first home game on Saturday August 11 before visiting Ashton Gate in the cup.

Darrell Clarke’s Bristol Rovers also start the season with a League One road trip to Peterborough.

Rovers return home to the Memorial Stadium to play Accrington Stanley on Saturday August 11 before hosting Crawley in the League Cup the following week.

Rovers meet Argyle at the Mem on Saturday September 8 and visit Home Park on March 23 next year.
