NATIONAL COUNTIES Lintott back for Wiltshire opener

NCCA-Logo MasterJake Lintott, a left-arm wrist spinner, is set to make his first appearance for Wiltshire in three years against Dorset at Bashley in their T20 opener today. 

Lintott’s impressive form with Wiltshire in 2019 secured him a trial with Warwickshire in 2020 and, having made his mark in the Vitality Blast, he secured a contract at Edgbaston.

NATIONAL COUNTIES Championship final race is on

NCCA-Logo MasterSeven counties head into today’s final round of three-day National Counties Championship matches with a chance of qualifying for next month’s final at Tring Park (September 5-8). 

All four of the Western Division One sides in action are in contention to top the division with 15 points separating Oxfordshire – who went top by beating defending champions Berkshire this week – from fourth place Dorset.

CRICKET MATTERS National Counties team news

NCCA-Logo MasterDevon wicketkeeper/batsman Matt Thompson will find himself in the unusual position of playing against his paymasters in today’s National Counties Championship Western Division Two match against Wales NC at Sandford. 

Although Thompson has played for Devon since 2010 his day job is head of talent pathway for Cricket Wales with a key part of his job being the development of the Wales NC side.

CRICKET MATTERS Pardoe returns to New Road

Herefordshire captain Matt Pardoe will be back on familiar territory when he leads out the National Counties side against Worcestershire at New Road in their 50 overs showcase game today (1100). 

Pardoe had three seasons with Worcestershire before moving into sports coaching at Sherborne School in Dorset and becoming a heavy run-scorer for Herefordshire.
