Gloucestershire player of the year Will Gidman has committed to the Bristol based club until 2014 after penning a new deal.
The 27-year-old all-rounder capped a successful first season with Gloucestershire as player of the year after scoring 1,000 runs and taking 50 wickets in the LV= County Championship last summer.
Gidman said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my first season with Gloucestershire and I am excited at the prospect of being part of a young, improving side over the next three summers.”
Gloucestershire director of cricket John Bracewell said: “Will was no doubt the outstanding performer in both divisions of the county championship.
“We are delighted to have secured his long-term future at the club. Genuine all-rounders are a rare breed, especially ones capable of performing in all formats of the game.”
Club captain Alex Gidman said: “All captains want a high quality all-rounder in their teams. It’s fun having my brother in the side, but more importantly Will has quickly become a key figure in our line-up with both bat and ball.”
