Cater became the first batter to reach 1,000 runs in the competition during the first match of Oxfordshire’s double-header against Herefordshire at Brockhampton last week.
Cater will have the chance to increase his aggregate of 1,020 runs as Oxfordshire host one of the four Super-12 tournament at Great & Little Tew where Cambridgeshire and Dorset will also be in action.
Dorset’s former Somerset batter Sam Young needs 83 more runs to reach 1,000 in the T20 competition and Norfolk’s Sam Arthurton requires just four more to emulate Cater’s achievement.
Arthurton will be on home soil for the Super 12s with Norfolk hosting defending champions Staffordshire and Hertfordshire at Manor Park in Horsford.
It will be the first time this season that Norfolk have played at Manor Park following winter work on the square at the ground which has meant them using Great Witchingham and Sprowston as home venues.
The other Super 12s will take place at Furness CC in Barrow, where hosts Cumbria, Lincolnshire and Herefordshire will be in action, and Slough where Berkshire, Shropshire and last year’s runners-up, Cornwall, will be vying for a place in Finals Day.
The format of each of the Super 12s has been arranged so that the host county faces the team who has travelled furthest in the opening match of the day at 10.
The third county will face the loser of the opening match at 1300 and the winner of the opening match at 1630.
Each of the four Super 12s winners – which will operate as a mini-league - will then progress to Finals Day at Chester Boughton Hall on Sunday May 26.
