Nigel Hambly's Cornwall Cricket League County Division One pace setters Redruth knocked out Premier side Troon in the 20-over Vinter Cup second round at Treslothan Road last night.
The Reds made 139 for 5, as in-form Neil Hornbuckle top scored on 52, and went on to win by 74 runs as hosts Troon totalled 65-9 (Harry Bolland 3-8).
Falmouth seconds enjoyed a 10-wicket home win over Leedstown (100-8) at Trescobeas.
In tonight’s second round cup ties Beacon host Helston (Tolcarne Road, 1815) and Hayle are at home to Ludgvan (Riviera Towans, 1830).
