Devon and Wiltshire suffered an unwanted hat-trick when their third successive MCCA Trophy group matches of the season were washed out.
Devon are now midway in group one, topped by Cornwall and Hertfordshire, following yesterday's abandonment of their home game against Bedfordshire at Bovey Tracey without a ball being bowled.
Devon’s next game – weather-permitting - is on Sunday May 20 away to Oxfordshire (Challow & Childrey CC, 1100). Oxfordshire were beaten by Herts (216-6) by three runs last Sunday.
Wiltshire have also lost their three opening group two games to rain ahead of next Sunday’s home match against Lincolnshire at Trowbridge Cricket Club (1100).
In group four Dorset host Berkshire at Bournemouth next Sunday (Dean Park 1100) while Wales visit Staffordshire (Leek).
Dorset’s opening game against Buckinghamshire at Sherborne School was abandoned while their trip to Staffordshire was cancelled because of April showers.
Wales (223-7, Andrew Salter 51no) beat Bucks (154, Daniel S Roberts 5-31) by 69 runs at Brymbo CC last Sunday after losing their opening match away to Berkshire.
