Cornwall’s cricketers are in a strong position after the opening day of their Minor Counties Championship game against Shropshire at St Austell CC.
Despite losing a couple of early wickets Cornwall recovered well to make 349-5 in 90 overs.
Penzance star Greg Smith ended on 127 not out and there were half centuries for Scott Harvey, Tom Rowe and Matt Robins.
The Shropshire innings collapsed to 66-6 at stumps with Tom Dinnis taking four wickets.
Play continues at Wheal Eliza at 11 this morning.
