Plymouth gained their first away victory since joining the Premier League this season when they won 45-44 against Leicester Lions at Beaumont Park last night.
Ben Barker, who returned to lead the side after top-scoring for Great Britain in the second test against Australia on Friday evening, was in sparkling form against the Lions. He scored 14 points from five rides, being beaten only by Richard Hall in heat 11.

Today Cornwall play Wiltshire in the MCCA Trophy at Redruth CC with play set to get underway at 11.00.
There was a dramatic day’s play in the Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League yesterday with results in the balance until the final over in all but one of the five games.

Yesterday’s Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League bank holiday action saw wins for Callington, St Austell, St Just and Truro.
Defending champions Paul were dismissed for only 99 at home to Callington, who won by eight wickets after reaching 103-2 in 30.4 overs.

In the ECB Premier League fixtures are Paul v Callington, Falmouth v St Just, Newquay v Truro, Grampound Road v St Austell and Werrington v Troon.

Devon are through to the last eight of the MCCA Trophy after beating cross-Tamar derby rivals Cornwall by 41 runs at Bovey Tracey Cricket Club yesterday.
Devon made 271 for 8, opener James Burke top scoring with 78 while Rob Woodman (37), Neil Bettis (29) and Bob Dawson (42) also contributed to the home side's winning score.
