Cornwall top the Minor Counties Championship Western Division by eight points, with two rounds remaining following a 105-run win over Cheshire at Truro CC.
Cornwall declared in the morning on 346-8 with St Austell wicket keeper-batsman Taylor Williams making 125 not out. It left Cheshire 363 to win in a minimum of 95 overs.

Torquay United have signed Australian defender Aaron Downes on a one-year deal following his release from Chesterfield.
The Gulls have swooped for Downes, 27, as a replacement for Devon-born defender Mark Ellis, who joined League One Crewe Alexandra from Torquay earlier this summer.

Cornwall's cricketers are well placed going into the final day of their Minor Counties Championship game against Cheshire at Truro CC today (Boscawen Park 1100).
The Duchy - buoyed by Sam Hockin's career best 7 for 82 - bowled out the visitors for 168 yesterday morning to lead by 16 following the first innings.

The 2012 English Boys Under 16 Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship for the McGregor Trophy has teed off at Trevose Golf & Country Club.
Northumberland’s Jack Hermeston, the young City of Newcastle ace won the 72 holes championship by four shots a year ago, finishing seven under on 281 at South Moor, in Durham.
