Euan Woods kept Berkshire in the hunt for a fifth straight National Counties Championship with a brilliant all-round performance in their Western Division One match against Cheshire at the Falkland club in Newbury.After Cheshire slow left-armer David Wainwright had returned his Championship-best figures of six for 38 to help dismiss Berkshire for 190 in their first innings, Woods then triggered a collapse which saw Cheshire lose their last seven wickets for 15 runs.

Even this early in the season, a pattern is emerging with Millbrook that you write them off at your peril.Yesterday at Silver Street they trailed three times, but three times they hit back in a thrilling FA Cup tie and Tom Payne’s 90th minute leveller earned them a replay at Jenkins Park on Tuesday night.
