Holders Staffordshire will meet Berkshire in a re-run of last season’s semi-final at National Counties T20 Finals Day at Chester Boughton Hall on Sunday May 26.

Twelve months ago a spectacular 147 from just 66 balls from Nils Priestley swept Staffordshire to a 68 runs victory over Berkshire at Tring Park before they beat Cornwall in the final.

Berkshire, Staffordshire, Cumbria and Oxfordshire will contest Finals Day of the National Counties T20 competition after they won their respective groups in the new Super 12s stage.

Defending champions Staffordshire made the most of their reprieve after they were reinstated to the competition after Northumberland were docked points for a breach of regulations, by routing Hertfordshire then Norfolk to win Group Two which was played at Manor Park in Horsford.

Two more players will have the chance to join Oxfordshire’s Jonny Cater in the National Counties T20 ‘1,000 Club’ when the new Super 12s stage of the competition is played for the first time today.

Cater became the first batter to reach 1,000 runs in the competition during the first match of Oxfordshire’s double-header against Herefordshire at Brockhampton last week.
