The summer Olympics countdown is on for athletes who train or study at the University of Bath as the Paris 2024 Games are now just a year away.

They will be determined to have secured their place on the biggest sporting stage of all when the Olympic flame is lit in front of the Trocadero on Friday July 26, 2024 following a unique opening ceremony taking place on the River Seine.

Team Bath-based Weston skeleton world champion

University of Bath-based athlete Matt Weston was crowned World Champion after winning men’s skeleton gold in magnificent fashion in St Moritz.

The in-form slider, who was crowned European Champion last week, set a new course record on his way to becoming the first British man to win the global title since Kristan Bromley 15 years ago.

BRISTOL BASEBALL launch new women's team

Bristol Bobcats will team-up with the British Baseball Federation (BBF) and Women In Baseball UK (WB-UK) in growing the game across the south west and be part of a national league from 2021.
