Title chasing Clifton Ladies Hockey Club resume their Investec Women’s Premier programme at home to Reading on Saturday January 31 at the University of Bristol’s Coombe Dingle Sports Complex (1300).
Clifton head into the mid-season annual Christmas break placed second in the England Women’s top flight just three points behind unbeaten leaders Surbiton, the only side to beat them this season.
Aileen Davis’ side ended the first “half” of the season with a fantastic five-match winning streak, topped by last week’s 4-1 win at Holcombe.
Devon’s Claire Thomas (2) Liz Sinton and Els Mansell (pictured) scored for Clifton. Lucy Wood replied.
Clifton have another reason to celebrate over the Christmas break as they also have an eagerly-anticipated Women’s Cup quarter final, away to local rivals Gloucester City, to look forward to in the New Year.
That cup tie takes place at Gloucester on Sunday February 15.
