County – unbeaten in six – made a flying start through striker Lenell John-Lewis’ first minute opener.

Chippenham-born midfielder Yan Klukowski doubled the Exiles' lead with a cracking 17th minute free kick strike.

Although Brackley pulled a goal back before half time, County surged further ahead with second half goals from midfielder Alex Rodman (63) and an own goal (71).

County visit League Two rivals Barnet in the FA Cup on Saturday December 5 but will focus on Saturday’s crunch league match at home to second from bottom Yeovil which precedes next Tuesday's trip to second placed Oxford United.

Since taking charge last month, former Plymouth boss Sheridan has hauled County off the basement to fourth from bottom thanks to a return of nine points in seven league games. Previous boss Terry Butcher's County side gleaned just five points from their opening 10 league matches.

Yeovil - unbeaten in three matches in three different competitions this month - are managed by another former Argyle boss, Paul Sturrock.
