Plymouth’s Scottish striker Ryan Hardie came off the bench to seal a 3-0 Argyle victory over Accrington Stanley and a fourth win on the spin for the League One leaders.

Substitute Sam Cosgrove’s stoppage time winner ensured Steven Schumacher's four-wins-on-the-spin Argyle stay top of League 1 following a thrilling success against third placed Wednesday on Tuesday. 

Exciting on-loan Birmingham City targetman Cosgrove looked to have scored in front of a rammed Devonport End in the 87th minute when his header to meet a far-post Conor Grant cross from the left smashed off the underside of the bar and appeared to cross the goal-line.

Substitute Josh Toulson’s injury time goal ended Millbrook’s seven-match run without a win as they edged out hard-working Ashton & Backwell at Jenkins Park on Saturday.

The game looked to be heading for a draw when Toulson collected a cross from Tylor Love-Holmes, swivelled and hit a fierce shot into the net to launch wild celebrations on and off the pitch.

Ivybridge Town made it 10 wins from 11 matches in the South West Peninsula League with a 2-0 victory away to Axminster on Saturday.

That result sees them retain top spot in the East Division on goal difference from second placed Dartmouth while Ivybridge also have a game in hand.
