Torquay United swept up to eighth in League Two following a convincing 2-1 win over Dagenham & Redbridge at Plainmoor.
Gulls boss Martin Ling said: "It's another League Two game that we have had to dig out against a team in a good run of form. We've got back to back wins after disappointing results. It gets us back into the race again and is a good way to kick off December."
The turning point was the introduction of 75th minute sub Niall Thompson a minute after Matthew Saunders smashed a volleyed leveller for Daggers.
Teenager Thompson let fly with a thumping cross from the left in the 79th minute that flew in off Daggers skipper Abu Ogogo for Torquay's winning goal.
Torquay had taken a 36th minute lead through Danny Stevens after Daggers keeper Chris Lewington flapped Rene Howe's cross-cum-shot on to the bar. In form winger Stevens (pictured) drilled home through a sea of legs for his second goal in two games.
United started on fire with hot shot Howe smashing a first minute effort off the bar with the visitors caught cold.
