SEAGULLS SOAR TO SEVENTH

Weston-super-Mare swept up to seventh in Blue Square Bet South following today’s 1-0 win at 10th placed Truro City.

Arran Pugh’s 88th minute own goal separated the sides at Treyew Road.

Recalled Kane Ingram hit the post from a Nat Pepperell cross during the second half as the Seagulls went in search of an opener. Craig Laird's side also hit the crossbar from an early first half corner.

Seagulls keeper Lloyd Irish made a stoppage time save to deny Truro player-manager Lee Hodges, who let fly with a sweetly struck half volley from the edge of the box.

Truro won 1-0 at Weston on Boxing Day when skipper Jake Ash claimed his 50th City goal.

Dorchester Town, in ninth place, visit FA Cup heroes Salisbury City in the league tomorrow (1500).

Salisbury - who visit Sheffield United in the FA Cup third round on Saturday - are 16th in the 22-team Conference South but have games in hand following their cup success.

The whites won 3-0 at Dorchester on Boxing Day.
