Cornwall Cricket were one of the first organisations to foster links with South West Sports News via their media officer Michael Weeks.
Those bonds have grown stronger over five summers thanks – in main - to the support of clubs around the county and various individuals including Alex Smeeth (Werrington CC) Sean Hooper (St Austell CC) Paul Berryman (Camborne CC) and Mark Stevens (Bugle CC).
Camborne-based Weeks continues to supply weekly round-ups for SWSN – something he has provided since the site’s April 2008 inception and for which I cannot thank him enough.
It was never meant for SWSN to be exclusive and we appreciate the great sports reporting that goes on in the Duchy via newspapers – hello Kevin Marriott - and radio (Ross Ellis).
I am sure all of us regularly pop into the indispensable official Cornwall Cricket website glowing following a golden winter makeover.
Cornwall Cricket also have a presence on twitter now as do many of the top Cornish cricket clubs and over the coming weeks I will be adding links to those clubs who follow South West Sports News.
In the meantime I also recommend searching out a copy of the comprehensive 2013 Cricket in Cornwall yearbook, the Cornwall Cricket Board annual offering edited by Weeks.
It should make fascinating reading following Cornwall's 2012 Minor Counties Championship winning season.
