Hamilton had his first taste of senior county cricket when he played for Berkshire in two T20 friendlies against Hampshire Second XI at Wormsley earlier this season and now gets his chance in the three-day competition.
He is one of three changes to the side which beat Oxfordshire in Berkshire’s Championship opener three weeks ago with Charlie Dunnett, who was unavailable for that match, and slow left-armer Nilesh Bhandari both returning.
Rhys Lewis will captain Berkshire as Andy Rishton is on holiday this weekend.
Charlie Hunt, another of Berkshire’s talented youngsters, is included in the 12-man squad and will also make his debut if he plays.
Devon go into the match with a 23 points lead over Berkshire following victories over Herefordshire and Oxfordshire but they have played one more match.
They are able to name an unchanged side this weekend which again includes Thorverton seamer George Daldorph who took five second innings wickets against Oxfordshire at Banbury on Tuesday.
Wiltshire, who celebrated their return to the top-flight after a five-year absence with a hefty victory over Herefordshire, have made one change to the side for their match against Oxfordshire at Corsham. Seamer Chris Aubrey is called up in place of the unavailable Sam Freestone.
Oxfordshire give a debut to seamer Will Rogers, who played against them for Sussex in a Showcase match three years ago. Rogers, who plays his club cricket for Mansfield Hosiery Mills, has trialled with Yorkshire Second XI this season.
Slow left-armer Ben Lucking and contracted Sussex batter Harrison Ward have also been called up for their first Championship appearances of the season.
Cheshire will enjoy home comforts for the first time since June 21 when they host Shropshire at Nantwich in Western Division Two.
Since they faced Cumbria in a T20 double-header at Nantwich Cheshire have become experienced long-distance travellers with consecutive away matches across the formats in Newcastle, Keswick, Ipswich and Wimborne – where they drew with Dorset in their Championship opener on Tuesday.
Cheshire are expected to recall batter Kevin Carroll to replace the unavailable Sam Perry.
Former Worcestershire batter Tom Fell returns from holiday for Shropshire and Berkswell batter Will Tarrant makes his seasonal debut.
They replace Warrick Fynn and Joe Johnson, who helped secure victory over Wales NC on Tuesday but has since joined Sussex on a short-term contract.
Wales NC have included Usk wicketkeeper Iwan Jones and Cardiff UCCE fast bowler Alfie Cutmore in a 13-man squad for possible National Counties debuts against Cornwall at Ebbw Vale.
Former Glamorgan off-spinner Tegid Phillips, batters Kurtis Marsh and Cameron Hemp and Usk seamer Ben Jones are all recalled.
Cornwall give a debut to Grampound Road leg-spinner Tom Fox-Dean as one of three changes to the side that beat Shropshire three weeks ago.
Batter Alfie Macdonald and all-rounder Jake Rowe return as the other replacements for Elliot Hooper, Bryn Evans and Ryan Tonkin.
