COUNTIES CRICKET regional T20 team news/fixtures

Wales NC have six contracted Glamorgan players – Alex Horton, Henry Hurle, Callum Nicholls, Jack Hope-Bell, Romano Franco and Ben Morris in their 14-man squad for the Group Three double-header against Berkshire at Panteg today.

Off-spinner Ollie Rayner returns to National Counties duty having played for Leicestershire’s Second XI during the week.

Berkshire have included slow left-armer Connor Lamsdale in their 13 for a possible T20 debut along with off-spinner Sulaiman Akhtar who played in the second match against Oxfordshire two weeks ago.

Buckinghamshire give a debut to Stony Stratford wicketkeeper Charlie Oldershaw against Oxfordshire at Marlow in the other Group Three double-header.

Former Herefordshire captain Matt Pardoe and seamer Tom Weymes also come into the side having missed the matches against Bedfordshire, which finished with one win apiece.

Harrison Ward returns from Vitality Blast duty with Sussex to captain Oxfordshire who include debutant Alfie Smethurst, a left-arm spinner who has graduated from their age group teams to Sussex’s academy.

Julian Laird and Tristan Rossouw are recalled in the other changes to the side beaten twice by Wales NC two weeks ago.

Devon captain Lawrence Walker has recovered from a broken thumb and will make his first county appearance of the season against Herefordshire at Blundell’s School, Tiverton.

Walker will not lead the side today as Callum Harvey, who has acquitted himself well as stand-in skipper, remains in charge.

All-rounder James Matravers is unavailable due to Gloucestershire commitments so Charlie Ward returns.

Herefordshire include debutant Ryan Trattell, a batter from Bartestree & Lugwardine which strengthens their commitment to play more players raised, living or playing cricket within the county boundaries.

Former Worcestershire and Leicestershire all-rounder George Rhodes returns after his commitments at Malvern College prevented him from playing in the double defeat by Dorset last time out.

Dorset were beaten twice by Devon at Wimborne with a severely depleted side two weeks ago but there is a more familiar look to the one they take to St Austell to face Cornwall this weekend.

The Eckland brothers Alex and Joe return, Joe having played for Somerset’s second team in the week.

Alfie Ingram and Ollie Breckon are line for their first appearances of the season with Mo Abbas, Matt Burton and Connor Smith all returning.

Dorset will be captained by batter Will Tripcony who made 77 for Surrey Second XI against Nottinghamshire on Wednesday.

Cornwall have included debutant Bryn Evans, an all-rounder from Helston, in a much-changed side from the one which tied and lost to Wiltshire two weeks ago.

Batter Chris Gibson makes his first appearance in two years and Logan Curnow his first of the season.

Hertfordshire have been boosted by the availability of Hampshire all-rounder Andrew Neal for today’s National Counties T20 double-header against Norfolk at Welwyn Garden City.
