Twenty wickets fell on the opening day of Cornwall’s Minor Counties game with Dorset at Bournemouth yesterday.
After reaching 131-1 Dorset were bowled out for 202 with Alex Smeeth taking four wickets and Tom Sharp and Ben Kitt three each.
In reply Matt Robins made 49 and Dan Davis 34 but after a reasonable start Cornwall also sensationally collapsed to 136 all out, with the last five wickets falling without a run being added.
Dorset reached 21 without loss in their second innings to lead by 87 runs.

St Just are just a win away from reaching the Barbados Cockspur Club t20 televised national finals day next month after winning the Area Finals Day yesterday at Cape Road. They beat Welsh side Ammanford in the semi final by 84 runs. In the final they overcame Bridgwater by 24 runs after making 150 for 5 with Gavin Edwards hitting 46. They now travel to Surrey next Sunday for the Regional Final against Valley End.
In Saturday’s Jolly’s Drinks ECB Cornwall Premier League action Callington took over at the top of the table after overwhelming St Austell. There were also wins for Werrington, St Just, Paul and Troon. A mere 18 points cover the top five with four games to play.
