FOUR goals from leading scorer Jordan Ewing powered Ivybridge to a 5-2 away win over Torridgeside in the South West Peninsula League.

Ewing brought his season’s total to 20 goals as Ivybridge collected a welcome victory to maintain their promotion challenge in the East Division where they remain in third position, closing the gap on second placed Crediton, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Bridport.

Plymouth Argyle boss Steven Schumacher remained philosophical and grounded following his side's first home League One defeat of the season, 2-0 against spirited Port Vale.

Schumacher - whose side stay top of League One - admitted: “We didn’t play well. I thought Port Vale deserved the win they were the better team probably throughout the game.
