Plymouth Argyle boss Steven Schumacher remains “calm” after his League One leaders edged closer towards automatic promotion with a 2-0 home win over Bristol Rovers.

Schumacher said: “It was hugely important in this three-game week we get as many points at home as we can but we know there’s still work to do. We are not over the line yet.

Dorset made it three straight wins in National Counties T20 Trophy Group Two with a six wickets victory over Devon in a low-scoring opening contest at Exmouth before rain washed out the second match.

Devon struggled to 92 for seven against miserly bowling with Rob Pack leading the way with two for 20 with good support from David Scott (one for 14) and Hampshire’s Ross Whiteley (one for 18).

FOUR days after failing to find a goal in their last home eague game of the season against Street, Millbrook ended their campaign by hitting five at bottom club Cadbury Heath on Saturday.

Macca Brown’s men will finish mid-table 13th in the Premier Division - barring two big wins for Wellington in their last two games - and that’s some achievement given the club’s meagre playing budget.

It’s rare that not a ball is bowled on a full Cornwall Cricket League matchday but that was the case on Saturday with 53 cancellations due to the weather.

There was persistent rain from breakfast to early evening countywide and with grounds still struggling to recover from Storm Noa earlier in the week the entire programme was called off by lunchtime.
