TONIGHT'S SW FOOTBALL FRIENDLIES

Beautiful evening here in Plymouth - just time for a quick round-up of pre-season friendly fixtures if you fancy watching some football (1945 unless stated).

Cheltenham Town host Walsall, Forest Green Rovers are at home to Bristol City. Paul Buckle's Bristol Rovers host Reading and Terry Skiverton's Yeovil Town - including former Plymouth Argyle targetman Rory Fallon - face Cardiff City at Huish Park.

CARLING CUP FIRST ROUND DRAW

New Torquay United boss Martin Ling is looking forward to taking a short trip along the South coast to play Championship side Southampton in the  Carling Cup first round.

Ling said: "It is a game that will get the players focused and a fantastic draw. If you looked at the teams we could face and nominated the ideal draw, it would probably be Southampton.

LES PHILLIPS CUP FINAL PREVIEW

Ilfracombe Town take on Bristol-based club Cadbury Heath at Wells City FC’s home ground, Rowdens Road, in the Toolstation Western League (Les Phillips) Cup final at 1500 today.

North Devon side Ilfracombe have just finished third in the Premier Division, Cadbury Heath fourth in the First.
