The striker, a popular player during his time with the Bridgers, struck in the 36th and 57th minutes to take his season’s tally to 16 as Darren Gilbert’s side put together arguably their best all-round 90 minutes of the season.
Wadebridge had earned rave reviews from their previous two games, away at Liskeard (4-3) and Mousehole (2-2), and would have gone top of the table with a win.
But they were never able – or perhaps allowed - to produce the flowing football which earned those away points.
There was anticipation in the air among the home fans among the highest Bodieve attendance of the season (201) but once the action started it was Bodmin who took the initiative, with Jason Vincent crashing a second minute volley against the angle of post and bar.
The Bridgers responded in the 12th minute with a nice passing move which led to Sam Gerken attempting to pass the ball into the net from 18 yards but Bodmin keeper Ollie Chenoweth was equal to it with a fine save.
The visitors should have taken the lead after 29 minutes when Jennings played strike partner Stuart Bowker through the middle but in an one-on-one with Rob Rosevear, it was the keeper who won by diving on the ball as Bowker played it just too far in front of him.
It took only another seven minutes for the deadlock to be broken as Bowker provided a superb pass across goal for Jennings to finish from close range.
Kyle Flew was inches away from connecting with a Callum Bertrand cross from the left as half-time approached and at the other end Vincent was close to doubling Bodmin’s lead.
Jennings made it 2-0 after running onto a long clearance down the right, taking the ball around keeper Rosevear and coolly rolling it into an empty net.
Wadebridge enjoyed the greater possession in the last 20 minutes and there were several occasions when the ball was flying around the Bodmin penalty area but the home side didn’t really force keeper Chenoweth into any serious saves.
