South West Sports News is supporting the 7th Medics Rugby Challenge in aid of the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund which takes place at Plymouth Albion RFC, Brickfields, tonight.
The feast of rugby - organised by city-based surgeon Anthony Lambert - begins at 1730 with a grassroots game between Plymouth-based Devonport Services Under 16s and their Ivybridge counterparts (gates open 1630).

Bath Rugby host South West rivals Exeter Chiefs at the Recreation Ground on the opening day of the new 2015-16 Aviva Premiership season, Saturday October 17.
Gloucester Rugby start the new season at Newcastle Falcons before hosting defending champions Saracens on the second Saturday of the new top flight term October 24.

Exeter Chiefs have strengthened their back-three options ahead of the 2015/16 season with the capture of try-scoring winger Olly Woodburn from Aviva Premiership rivals Bath Rugby.
The 23-year-old Keynsham born back is one of two new arrivals confirmed by head coach Rob Baxter today, joining England and British Lions lock Geoff Parling in agreeing terms on a two-year deal with the Sandy Park outfit.

Geoff Parling is ready to start a new chapter of his playing career after today agreeing terms on a two-year contract with Exeter Chiefs.
The England and British Lions forward is Rob Baxter’s first major signing ahead of the 2015/16 season and joins Chiefs from Aviva Premiership rivals Leicester Tigers.
