I plan to post tomorrow's SWSN football fixtures overnight so PLEASE if you know of any pitch inspections, or games being called off tweet @swsportsnews so our football followers – and in most cases your supporters – get early notice of the state of play.
Kevin Marriott - Cornish Guardian, Cornishman and West Briton sports editor - kindly informed me early yesterday that tonight's Elburton Villa versus Bodmin Town South West Peninsula Premier match has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Haye Road.

The arctic weather conditions continue to cause problems for sports teams today and those looking ahead to big games on Saturday.
Super supporters – as they proved last weekend by pitching in at rugby grounds in South Wales (notably Cardiff Blues) and football grounds at Salisbury City and Newport County – can play their part in whether games go ahead or not.

It may be New Year's Day but some of the region's non-League football fans are experiencing a groundhog, deja vu, day.
Torrential rain caused the postponement of a dozen of today's scheduled Western League NYD fixtures, including a handful of Premier Division matches, by mid-afternoon yesterday.
