The team meet Ireland, Scotland and Wales next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as they bid to regain the Raymond Trophy, last won by England at Ganton, Yorkshire, in 2013. The teams play in a round robin format, with five foursomes and 10 singles each day.
Defending champions Ireland – who pipped England by half a game point last year – have won the title the past four years.
ENGLAND SQUAD
Jake Burnage 23 (Saunton Devon) led qualifiers in the Spanish amateur, third in the St Andrews Links Trophy and reached last 16 in English Amateur. Joe Long 21 (Lansdown Gloucestershire pictured) runner up in the English Amateur, fourth in Dutch U21s and fifth in Hampshire Salver.
Tom Plumb 19 (Yeovil Dorset) tied 13th in Welsh Open, third in West of England Open and fifth in Lytham Trophy.
Tom Sloman 22 (Taunton & Pickeridge Somerset) runner-up in Welsh Open, The Amateur and English amateur championships quarter-finalist
Mitch Waite 23 (Filton Gloucestershire) tops England Golf men’s order of merit after finishing runner-up in the European Amateur and the Lytham Trophy, Amateur Championship semi-finalist
Nick Poppleton 24 (Wath, Yorkshire) Brabazon Trophy champion, represented England in the European team championship and GB&I in the St Andrews Trophy
Bailey Gill 21 (Lindrick, Yorkshire) joint runner-up in the Portuguese amateur, third in the Brabazon Trophy and sixth in the Chiberta Grand Prix in France.
David Hague 22 (Malton & Norton, Yorkshire) helped England win silver medal at the European men’s team championship and represented GB&I in the St Andrews Trophy
Ben Jones 19 (Northamptonshire County) runner-up in the Portuguese amateur and fourth in the Chiberta Grand Prix
David Langley 24 (Castle Royle, Berkshire) top ten finishes in the Brabazon Trophy and the Welsh amateur open
Andrew Wilson 24 (Darlington, Durham) five top tens this season, including sixth place in the Brabazon Trophy
