The deal means the 24-year-old left armer, who graduated from the Gloucestershire CCC Academy, remains at Bristol's Brightside Ground until the end of summer 2021.
Born and brought up in Oxfordshire, Taylor - the younger brother of Gloucestershire batsman Jack Taylor - made his debut during the 2011 Cheltenham Cricket Festival while still at school.
The pace ace featured in all Gloucestershire’s county championship matches this summer and was exceptional with the ball, taking a personal season's best 46 wickets for an average of 25.46.
His most impressive red ball performance came against local rivals Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff when he took 5-81 in Gloucestershire's win.
Taylor said: “I am delighted to extend my contract with Gloucestershire. After making some great progress as a squad this season I am excited to see what we can achieve over the next few years.”
Gloucestershire CCC head coach Richard Dawson said: “It’s great that Matt has extended his contract with Gloucestershire. He has had a great year in the County Championship and has been an integral part of the squad. We look forward to him continuing to improve and help the club.”
