Cornwall’s cricketers scored a fantastic four wicket-win over Shropshire in their Minor Counties Championship Western Division game at St Austell CC yesterday.
Needing 269 to win, Tom Sharp's side made 271-6 with seventy five minutes to spare.
Calllington opener Matt Robins added to his first innings century with a second innings 97, skipper Sharp made 53 with Duchy debutant Tom Rowe (Notts) 41 not out.
Cornwall had enjoyed a great morning taking Shropshire’s last five wickets cheaply to bowl them out for 264.
Werrington's Alex Smeeth took 6 for 76 to end with 11 wickets and on the winning side.
The action continues at St Austell tonight with the re-arranged Clive Rosevear Hawkey Cup Final between East Cornwall rivals Callington and Werrington (Wheal Eliza, 1800).
In Monday night's Dawe Insurance Andrew Cup Final at St Gluvias CC, Stithians beat Praze by five wickets.
